WHO WE ARE
Londonderry Foundation for STEM Education is a group of local parents and technology leaders. We saw a need to dramatically increase the support for and availability of STEM education in Londonderry. We are a registered 501(c)3 non-profit incorporated in New Hampshire.
OUR MISSION
We support and foster all science, technology, engineering, math (and those that include related disciplines, such as business, marketing, and technical arts) educational initiatives, enrichment activities, and programs targeted at Londonderry youth (grades K-12) by actively initiating, sponsoring, and/or funding those initiatives and programs.
We seek to develop community interest in and awareness of STEM and STEM educational opportunities throughout the Town of Londonderry, NH.
To fulfill those objectives, we help raise funds for the enhancement of youth robotics programs affiliated with the Town of Londonderry and, in particular, provide financial support for Londonderry High School, Londonderry Middle School, and Londonderry elementary schools’ robotics teams and educational programs.
LEADERSHIP
Our Board of Directors is responsible for the overall operation and oversight of Londonderry STEM:
Brendan McLeod – President
Brendan is a Hardware Integration Engineer with Amazon Physical Stores Technologies. He has a BS in Robotics Engineering and Mechanical Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute. He joined FIRST Robotics as a student on the LHS Team in 2008, and has since held internships at FIRST HQ, volunteered in FIRST throughout New England, and helped open a new machine shop in the Londonderry area to bring more technology and equipment to the hands of students.
Brendan and his wife (whom met as students on the LHS Robotics team in 2010) now live in Londonderry.
Henry J Mok, Ph.D. – Treasurer
Henry is a Sr. Director of Chemistry at Invicro, a Konica Minolta Company in medical imaging, with 20 years of experience in pharmaceutical drug development in diagnostic and therapeutic radiopharmaceuticals, chemo and various cancer treatment therapies. He earned his BSc and PhD in chemistry from Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Boston College, respectively.
Henry and family live in Londonderry. Both his children are active participants on the Londonderry High School Robotics team.
Dana Villeneuve, R.N. – Secretary
Dana is an R.N. at Massachusetts General Hospital in their oncology center. She has Bachelor of Science in Nursing from St. Francis Xavier University in Nova Scotia, Canada. Dana also serves as a mentor for the Londonderry High School and Middle School robotics teams.
Dana lives in Londonderry with her family. Her daughter has been involved in robotics at Londonderry Middle School and is now a member of the Londonderry High School Robotics team.
Kenny Kutney – General Manager
Kenny is a User Experience Architect with Imprivata in Lexington, MA. He has a BSEE from University of Massachusetts Amherst, and has been actively advocating for STEM education with FIRST since 2003. He’s been involved with the Londonderry High School Robotics team since 2016.
Kenny lives in Londonderry with his family (LHS graduates).
